Turbines within Turbines

26th April 2009

Earlier this year HGI installed one of their Wind Turbine Power Packs within a North Wales Wind Turbine Farm. The HGI packs are dwarfed by the 1.3MVA turbines providing renewable energy for the countryside.

The diminutive HGI Wind Turbines produce 1KW each and are backed up by special water cooled slow running diesels. The HGI Power Packs are powering a HOPS site. This is like a relay station for the Emergency Services Radio Network and is crucial for the reliable running of the Cell Network.

Working Closely with Genasys Power Systems, HGI and Genasys were able to produce an innovative, economic and renewable power pack., which is ideal for any utility company looking for a responsible solution.  It is worth considering that low cost and reliable doesn't necessarily mean machines have to be dirty or noisy.
