Firelink Deployment Reaches 1000 Units

30th June 2008

A huge milestone was reached this month when the deployment of diesel and LPG generators for the Firelink project reached 1000 units.

So far the team has deployed generators as far north as the Shetland Isles and as far south as the Scilly Isles.

A large number of the sites have proven to be well removed from what could be classed as a standard installation, with helicopters, all-terrain tracked vehicles and tricky crane lifts being commonplace.

The team has also had the task of planning the servicing, refuelling and general upkeep of all the sets which brings its own set of problems when accessing these remote sites in severe weather conditions or out of normal working hours.

This project has proved that Harrington Generators have the ability to design, build, deploy and install a large variety of generator sets throughout the whole of the UK and have the infrastructure and engineers available to ensure that they are serviced and maintained 24hours a day 365 days a year in all locations and all weather conditions.

With around 200 units still to deploy the challenge is not yet over but HGI are confident that the project will be completed ahead of schedule with no problems that cannot be overcome.
