Planning can be a challenge on telecoms sites, especially in areas covered by the National Trust or the Forestry Commission. Although a generator on these sites is essential to back up the mast in the event of mains power failure, in the past it has proved a fruitless task.

HGI have addressed the issue by designing a compact diesel solution, which can fit inside a building with minimum impact to the external brickwork. The compact bunded fuel tank can also fit internally and in most cases can be designed to suit the smallest of buildings.

The result is a generator solution, which causes no external impact on the site, and is therefore ideal when planning laws are tight.  Airwave have now adopted this as their preferred solution in National Park and Forestry Commission areas.
